One nice thing about being a student is that occasionally you can get discounts that are only for students (the next time you can enjoy this kind of thing is many years later, when you can get senior discounts). Here are a few examples,

• First-round movie theaters may give you a $2 discount on a regular ticket of around $6.
• Some restaurants have student discounts, e.g. a "starving student special."
• Some airlines offer special price for student travelers.
• All three US automakers give discount to new car buyers who recently graduated from school.
